Every day in discussion groups we see just how horribly bad sex education is. Schools don’t teach in sex ed what needs to be taught and parents generally do little to nothing to educate their children. So where do most people learn about sex now? From porn. Porn is extremely easy to come by for free and is a horrible source of sex education. People don’t realize that porn doesn’t teach sex the same way an action movie doesn’t teach fighting skills. Porn is acting, shooting, and editing all for entertainment purposes, not for education. We have put together a list of things that porn gets horribly wrong when it comes to real life.
Pretty much zero communication / feedback
In porn flicks, about the most communication or feedback you will ever see is “Don’t stop!!!”. This really implies that the giver must be the Greek God of Sex and instinctually knows exactly what every woman wants. In reality, good communication and feedback is critical to receiving the pleasure that you want. Simple feedback like left, right, up, harder, slower, RIGHT THERE is extremely effective is making sure everyone has the best experience possible.
Basically zero foreplay
The most foreplay you will ever see in porn is some quick oral sex, and 90% of the time it is the girl giving a guy a blowjob and then she is ready for penetration. This is probably one of the worst things people get wrong in real life because they simply have not seen good examples of foreplay in porn. A woman needs time to get fully aroused, this can be 15-20 minutes. Good foreplay involves kissing, massaging, sucking on the titties, slowly working your way down, and really building the anticipation. Good foreplay really seperates the good lovers from the bad ones.
Editing makes it look like guys can stay hard and pumping for 30 minutes straight
The reality is, a guy can generally only keep an erection for 5-7 minutes. Porn sets an unrealistic expectation that a guy can maintain a rock solid boner for an hour, going from woman to woman and hole to hole (which also brings up going from anal to vagina is a HUGE no no from an infection point of view). Guys online are constantly asking why they can’t keep an erection for 30 minutes or so, well my dudes, because you can’t.
Women orgasming from PIV alone constantly
Only sometimes in porn do you see any clitoral stimulation during normal intercourse, and when you do, it’s almost barbaric in intensity. While there have been several studies about this, you kind of need to average out the results and it is somewhere between 30-50% of women either never, or rarely orgasm from penetration alone. Seeing nearly 100% of woman in porn orgasm without clit stimulation sets an unrealistic expectation of how to please a woman.
Men …. and woman …. practically destroying clits
From watching porn, you would think that clits are made from titanium and need to be hit with a jackhammer to provide any sensation. Whether its man on woman, woman on woman, or a woman touching herself, clit stimulation in porn is like watching medieval torture. There are the same number of nerve endings in that tiny little nub as there are in the entire penis. When you pack that many nerve endings in such a small space, you get a spot that is HIGHLY sensitive. You need to be gentle with her little friend, not try to beat it into submission.
Women cumming in 2-5 minutes
Women, on average, take 15-20 minutes of stimulation to reach climax. Well, that would be the entire length of most online porn and ain’t nobody got time for that shit. If you think your woman (or yourself) is taking way too much time, you need to keep in mind that porn is not reality, and women are going to take their time to get there.
Vaginal and Anal with zero lube or warmup
In researching for this article, I could not find one single video that showed any lube being used….ever. Some women just don’t get wet enough and need lube for vaginal sex, and you need a metric shit ton of lube when doing anal. Anal also takes prep time, and often some training to get ready to take a penis. Virtually nobody can do anal totally raw, this is how people get hurt.
Squirting
I don’t know why, but this one is a pet peeve of mine lately. People in discussion groups will absolutely chastise someone for pointing out that squirting is essentially pissing yourself. Does a combined orgasm with peeing feel good? Some say it does, but I don’t want my partner spraying urine all over me. Save that for the bathroom. Yes, there is some other fluids involved, but the majority of the expelled liquid is simple piss. If you have been craving the savory goodness of your woman squirting all over your face, just know the facts first.
Men/Women Prefer that the guy cums on her face
This is what is called a money shot. If you don’t see the guy finish by sploodging on her face or tits, then how do you know he actually came? This also perpetuates the notion that the pull-out method is effective birth control. Sure, there are going to be women who enjoy getting a facial, but they are few and far between.
Summary
While it can be argued that there is “something to be learned from porn”, there is very, very little GOOD information in regular porn. One alternative is amateur porn which tends (and I use this lightly) to be a little more realistic, but, they are still shooting for views so you have to understand it is still more for show than a reflection of real life.
